Crossing racial barrier...
E.Skinner was the first African American pilot in WW1. His father ‘s job was the slave. In contrast, as Lawry was the son of high social status family,he had the discrimination consciousness.
During the battle, Lawry was saved by Skinner. Lawry was ashamed of his behavior, then he opened the plug of cognac in order to settle with Skinner.
This scene is very quiet , silent and only a few word.... but very impressive for me. 🤔☺️It was a moment that they had through feelings beyond the racial barriers.
私の好きな名場面の一つ。
裕福でハイソな家の息子ローリーは人種差別感を持っていました。戦いの中でスキナーに救われ反省していきます。自分のこれまでの行いを恥じ入り、スキナーに大事なコニャックの栓を開き、数少ない会話の中から打ち解けあっていくのです。
お父上のご職業は？
奴隷だったよ.....
この後の二人の背中のシーンは何度見てもジーンときます。
1/72での作製は反省の連続でした。懲りずにチャレンジ、続けます😃😅
